Outline of Duties

The Scrum Master / QA Analyst is a hybrid role responsible for designing and executing tests as well as facilitating the agile process. Passion for quality assurance and the ability to facilitate an agile team are important. The Scrum Master role spearheads the agile ceremonies as well as educating the whole team about the processes. The QA Analyst role requires working closely with the Head of Software Development and Architecture and the development team to ensure the quality of the application.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Information Technology, Bachelor of Computer Science; or similar
  • At least three years of experience as a QA Analyst/Tester
  • Experience with writing and consolidating test cases
  • Experience with test automation is a plus
  • Proven experience facilitating agile methodologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience with databases is desirable
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence

Responsibilities

As the Scrum Master

  • Facilitate all the scrum ceremonies – daily stand-ups, sprint review, sprint planning and any retrospective
  • Coach the team in following the scrum framework
  • Track and manage team progress, and report to stakeholders
  • Manage the Jira projects and boards
  • Continuously improve the scrum practices within the organisation
  • Agile certifications are highly regarded
  • Proficient in agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)

As the QA Analyst

  • Design and execute comprehensive test plans covering functional, non-functional and regression testing.
  • Write clear and concise test cases based on the requirements.
  • Execute and document test results
  • Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot and resolve identified issues
  • Raise and escalate recurring issues
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest methodologies and tools in testing
